This project focused on initial teacher training: we introduced ICT into our subjects, with the support of SI-G and AGARESO, using different dynamics, making use of the communicative resources offered by new technologies and putting students at the centre of their learning.
Participatory action research was used, carried out with trainee students in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education and Social Education, to include ECG through a project integrated into the Faculty of Education at the UDC. This involved numerous different actions in specific subjects such as General Didactics, Languages, Mathematics, Experimental Sciences, ICT, Values Education and Environmental Education, to produce learning materials or processes. The students were able to verify its effectiveness through an ‘ECG Fair’ held in May, in which they collaborated with other NGO ‘activity stands’ such as SIG, AGARESO, Architecture without Borders, or the UDC’s Cooperation and Volunteering Office.
Evidence was collected, performances were recorded and evaluations were carried out on the student promoters of the experiences and on those who participated in the fair, which were cross-referenced with the project’s external evaluation.
Work began on the book coordinated by Renée Depalma Úngaro, –Education for Development and Global Citizenship. A Participatory Action Research Experience– published by the Graó publishing house, which documents this experience with a descriptive and illustrative aim.
The Galician Award for Education for Development and Global Citizenship was created, the first edition of which was launched in 2020.
