TRANSFER

The NGO Solidarity International of Galicia (SIG) and the ECIGAL Research Group of the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University of A Coruña have developed this tool to help us get to know each other, serving as a starting point for weaving a network of centres and entities working in ECG, as well as establishing lines of collaboration and shared learning.

Click against unwanted loneliness

In this project, we are collaborating with the Esplai Foundation to address one of the problems of our time: the unwanted loneliness of older people.

Through a Participatory Action Research process, we will investigate whether Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) constitute a tool for the prevention of unwanted loneliness.

To this end, we want to carry out a participatory process where older people are at the centre, not only taking their needs into account, but also involving them in decision-making and in designing the actions that will put technological tools at the service of their well-being.

ASC Plan at Monterroso Prison

In a social context as particular as the prison, we trust in sociocultural animation as a work strategy that allows us to increase educational opportunities, whilst respecting the rights of the individual.

Aware of the difficulties posed by this context, the experience at Monterroso prison is an eloquent demonstration of the potential of this methodology in enhancing opportunities for education and participation within the prison and in opening the centre outwards.

Training MOOC and criteria for good practice in ECG

As part of the project “Investigating in the territory to know and recognise ECG experiences”, funded by the General Directorate for External Relations and the European Union of the Xunta de Galicia, we have developed a series of materials and training resources aimed at strengthening the work of ECG in schools.

Education for development and global citizenship

This work compiles experiences that allow for the identification of methodologies, themes, approaches and tools, and which contribute to highlighting the strengths and weaknesses, the successes and difficulties we face when working on EPD.

It is intended to be a useful tool for professionals working in EPD and, very especially, for teachers.

Development and Global Citizenship Days

In 2019, we held the 7th edition of the Education for Development and Global Citizenship Days. These Days, organised by the NGO Solidaridad Internacional Galicia and the Faculty of Education Sciences at the University of A Coruña, bring together specialists and professionals each year to discuss the main challenges of our time and educational strategies to advance, from a glocal perspective, towards a more just world.

Body mapping: two hateful discourses on a shared pleasure

Through an APS experience with students from the Social Education degree, we explored how hate speech affects our well-being, identifying its repercussions in each of the spheres of human wholeness.

Thanks to the collaboration of various organisations from the Acampa Network, we had the opportunity to learn from those who suffer most from this speech, as well as to create spaces for coexistence through leisure activities.

Pedagogies of the Uncomfortable: Voices of Glass and Resistance

Through an APS experience with students on the Social Education degree, we created an online community radio station as a space to address topics of interest to the profession, but also as a tool for outreach, connection and raising awareness among the wider society.
